$100mn+ post-quake ILWs trade on Japan

Reinsurance broker Aon Benfield traded over $100mn of Japanese earthquake industry loss warranties (ILW) shortly after the 11 March catastrophe, Trading Risk has learned.

The firm traded the reinsurance derivative contracts in the immediate aftermath of the event and has continued to trade Japan quake ILWs in recent weeks as uncertainty persists over industry insured loss levels.
