CCRIF pays out on Earl
The government of Anguilla received a $4.3mn payout from the Caribbean Catastrophe Risk Insurance Facility (CCRIF) pool after Hurricane Earl battered the island.

The CCRIF cover is provided on a parametric basis, linked to the physical characteristics of the storm, and payment was made within a fortnight of the event.

The storm caused roof losses, flooded buildings and downed power lines across the island. The payout was equal to nearly 20 times the government's annual...
