Deutsche's $1bn Evergreen targets equity investors

Deutsche Bank's mooted Evergreen vehicle - which aims to transfer $1bn of (re)insurance risk to the capital markets - will target equity investors in a bid to create more liquidity for insurance-linked instruments, Trading Risk understands.

The Evergreen shelf facility is currently being marketed with a view to issuing the first transaction in January 2010, in the hope that an alternative to cat bonds and sidecar vehicles will appeal to reinsurers and mainstream investors alike.
