Alternus facility boosts scale of Nephila’s primary strategy

Nephila's new facility with Marsh will help to kick-start growth of the fund manager's US insurance book, with the deal much more significant in size than its previous arrangement with Amwins.

Nephila and its fronting partner Allianz will take a 10 percent share of Marsh's large US commercial property business.

Allianz will retain attritional exposures, with catastrophe risk ceded to Nephila. The premiums are thought to be worth $100mn-$200mn annually.

Nephila's capacity will be offered at a 7.5 percent discount...
