Aon Benfield: Q1 2010 issuance 50% down year-on-year

A sluggish first quarter saw total ILS issuance of $300mn, or just 50 percent of levels seen in the same quarter of 2009, according to Aon Benfield Securities.

In a report released today (21 April), Aon Benfield noted that just two transactions came to market in Q1 2010, totalling $300mn. This compares to a total of $575mn for the same period of 2009, when the first transactions closed following the post-Lehman issuance hiatus.
