AQR hires London team

Investment manager AQR Capital Management has hired London-based underwriters Rick Montgomerie and Charlie Vaughan, who previously ran Magnetar affiliate MV Re Advisors.

They will work with Andrew Sterge who will lead the new reinsurance team for AQR, which is hoping to raise $250mn to invest in the sector.

Sterge previously headed up Pulsar Re, the Bermudian reinsurer set up by hedge fund Magnetar in 2006...
