Axa launches EUR150mn Euro wind bond

French insurer Axa has launched its first European wind catastrophe bond, as tipped by Trading Risk.

The EUR150mn Calypso Capital bond, which is scheduled to close at the end of October, will provide Axa Global P&C with three years of European wind risk cover.

If successful, Axa's bond will be the first issuance under a EUR1.5bn Dublin-based shelf programme, Calypso Capital Ltd.
