Cat bond sales may struggle to reach $4bn; S&P

Cat bond sales may struggle to reach $4bn this year in the absence of a major disaster, Standard & Poor's (S&P) analyst Dennis Sugrue said at a conference in London today (8 September).

Cat bond issue may look healthy "on the surface," Sugrue said, after $2.7bn was raised in the first half of the year. This was nearly double the $1.4bn sold in the same period last year.

But the cat bond market shouldn't be toasting the success of first-half...
