Chartis plans $250mn US wind cat bond

US insurer Chartis is marketing a $250mn US wind cat bond, Lodestone Re, which will take the volume of closed and pending ILS capacity in 2010 over the $1bn mark, if successful.

Bermuda-based special purpose vehicle Lodestone Re is the first ILS offering from Chartis subsidiary National Union Fire Insurance Company, which is American International Group's (AIG) commercial property and casualty insurer.
