Clariden Leu re-opens cat bond fund on healthy outlook

Major cat fund manager Clariden Leu has re-opened its flagship Cat Bond Fund to new capital inflows, seven months after closing its doors in May last year in the face of weak ILS issuance.

The Swiss-based manager took the decision on the back of a solid issuance season in Q4 2011 and the promise of a strong bond pipeline for 2012, Trading Risk understands.

The Luxembourg-based fund re-opened on 3 January to new capital from existing investors, according to sources...
