Derivatives regulators kick into gear after Obama signs reform bill

US regulator the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) is asking for public submissions as it prepares for a busy year of rulemaking, after President Obama signed a sweeping financial services reform bill into law yesterday (21 July).

At the signing ceremony, Obama hailed the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act as a law that would put an end to taxpayer bail-outs of financial institutions.
