Don’t sell ILS on double-digit returns, managers warn

Cat bond fund managers may have oversold what the sector can deliver to institutional investors, according to some presenters at Wednesday's Standard & Poor's ILS conference held in London.

Secquaero chairman Dirk Lohmann said that returns of 10-12 percent may not be realistic for reinsurance as an asset class.

Average returns of 7-7.5 percent might be a more realistic figure, he suggested.
