Four Euro wind cat bonds expected

Up to four European wind bonds are tipped to come to the market in the second half of the year, helping to take total issuance volumes to the $5bn level predicted for 2010.

Likely sponsors will come from the pool of serial ILS issuers such as French insurerGroupama, (re)insurers Scor, Allianz and Swiss Re, who together have more than $1bn of European wind cat bonds due to expire shortly. (See table, click to enlarge.) Click to enlarge
