Hannover Re forecasts first non-UK longevity swap

Global reinsurer Hannover Re says it expects the first longevity swap from outside the UK will close in the first half of the year as interest from international pension funds in Denmark, the Netherlands, Canada and South Africa grows.

"The currently emerging, increasingly international dimension of demand for such covers promises outstanding potential for the future," the firm noted.

Hannover has been building its presence in the UK longevity space, where it helps bear the risk of pensioners living longer...
