New state wind pool mulls cat bond

The Massachussetts state-sponsored windstorm insurance pool is understood to be close to launching a cat bond, in a move believed to be inspired by recent deals from North Carolina, Trading Risk can reveal.

Swiss Re Capital Markets will manage the latest transaction, which is expected to launch next week and will offer the Massachussetts wind pool three year cover against hurricanes in the state, according to sources.
