CME adds rainfall to weather offerings
Derivatives trading platform CME Group has added rainfall futures and options to its suite of weather products, with trading open from 1 November.

The monthly and seasonal contracts will be based on the CME Rainfall Index and will be available from March to October.

The launch opens up access to tools that were previously only available to large, commercial end-users in the over-the-counter market, Chicago Weather Brokerage president Jeff Hodgson said.
