Perils finalises Xynthia loss

European loss aggregator Perils increased its final insured loss estimate for Windstorm Xynthia to EUR1.32bn.

This has edged up 3 percent over the past year from the first EUR1.28bn estimate released in April after the February storm.

Under its reporting schedule Perils finalises its loss estimates one year after an event.

The modest change to its original estimate demonstrated the robustness of its methodology, Perils said.

The estimate excludes losses indemnified by the French CatNat government scheme...
