RBS and Guggenheim ride transformer wave

The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) and US broker-dealer Guggenheim Securities are both planning to launch transformer vehicles in Bermuda this month, to profit from an anticipated 20-30 percent growth in the risk transformation sector in 2010, Trading Risk can reveal.

The Guggenheim vehicle, which has not yet been named, will launch in March, followed closely by RBS, which plans to launch its transformer capability in the second quarter, according to sources.
