SAC Capital joins reinsurance bandwagon

Connecticut-based SAC Capital Management is the latest investor to turn its attention to the insurance-linked capital markets as a source of diversified returns, Trading Risk can reveal.

The $15bn hedge fund, headed by industry legend Steven Cohen, plans to launch a rated reinsurance company with a focus on short-tail lines, according to sources.
