Scor eyes up longevity market

French reinsurer Scor has appointed a new head of longevity to spearhead its entry into the longevity risk transfer market in the UK.

London-based Rupen Shah has taken on the role after previously advising the firm on a contract basis. Before that, he was at XL Re overseeing their longevity portfolio.

Shah declined to put a figure on Scor's appetite for longevity risk, which involves insuring pension funds against the risk of their members living longer than expected.
