Spanish manager launches UCITS-compliant cat bond fund

Investment in catastrophe bonds looks set to broaden as Intelectia Capital launches a cat bond fund compliant with the European Undertakings for Collective Investment in Transferable Securities (UCITS) III directive.

The UCITS set of directives was established to allow EU-wide marketing for funds. Although they were initially designed for the retail market, institutional investors have been attracted to UCITS-compliant funds.
