Recently, we have witnessed some signs of complacency on different occasions related to the success of cat bonds during the financial crisis of autumn 2008. It seems to us that people have short memories.

If, instead of Lehman Brothers, Goldman Sachs had defaulted, the asset class would have lost its credibility and the development of cat bonds could have been jeopardised. But the US Federal Reserve's rescue...
