Vecta revives life ILS

Canadian life reinsurer Aurigen Reinsurance has brought to market Vecta I, an embedded value life insurance securitisation, according to a presale note from Standard & Poor's.

The Vecta deal is the first embedded value securitisation to come to market as a public 144a offering since the financial crisis.

Earlier this year ILS manager Secquaero and Novium placed a EUR60mn embedded value securitisation privately. Other deals closed over the past few years include Hannover's L7 and an Aegon deal.
