Weatherbill raises $42mn for expansion

Weather insurance provider Weatherbill has raised $42mn from venture capitalists and signed up Khosla Ventures and Google Ventures as new backers to support its expansion.

Existing investors New Enterprise Associates, Index Ventures, Allen & Company, First Round Capital, Atomico, and Code Advisors also put up more capital.

Collateralised reinsurer Nephila has also invested in the firm and provides the insurance backing for Weatherbill's products from its Nimbus Weather Fund.

But it was not listed as an investor in the latest...
