XL Group said it would take $130mn of losses from Hurricane Matthew
and $75mn of claims from the New Zealand earthquake in the fourth
quarter of 2015.
The company has warned investors to expect net catastrophe losses of around $245mn in total for the quarter.
Just over half of the Q4 loss will fall in the Bermuda-based carrier's insurance segment with the remaining $120mn expected to be paid by its reinsurance division.
