Florida and southeast regional insurers need to look to longer term solutions to the financial distress that some are experiencing after a year of heavy weather losses and ongoing high litigation costs, Stonybrook partner Tom Deane said.

But he also forecast that the beginning of a rebuilding is underway that could allow some of the current trends to reverse course at a later date.
