Lloyd’s took £2.5bn of catastrophe losses within its £6bn major-claims toll in 2020, as the property insurance toll overtook worsening property-reinsurance losses.

Covid-19 losses made up nearly 60% of the major claims, with £6.2bn of gross losses offset by £2.6bn of reinsurance recoveries.
