Lloyd’s believes that the market must continue pushing underwriting discipline and rate to bring the attritional loss ratio below 50% if it is to counteract the ultra-low interest rate environment in the coming years, according to CFO Burkhard Keese.

Lloyd’s today reported aggregated market results for 2020, which showed headline numbers severely impacted by Covid-19 and cat losses but some improvement in the underlying underwriting result.
