First-quarter cat bond spreads have fallen on average by 15%-20% from their Covid peak and are expected to keep tightening as deals expire in Q2, according to Aon Securities.

Repeat sponsors accounted for the majority of new Q1 transactions and the firm said investors favoured per occurrence over aggregate triggers as a result of the most recent loss events.
