Perils has estimated that the flooding that struck New South Wales (NSW) and Queensland in Australia in March will cause $A1.06bn ($780mmn) of insured damage.

The flooding that took place between 18 and 24 March has been labelled the worst in Australia for 60 years and necessitated the evacuation of 20,000 people.
