UPC’s Henley expects deluge of claims before Florida reform bill takes effect

UPC Insurance’s head of claims John Henley said that Florida attorneys would be likely to file a “deluge” of litigation up until the Florida insurance reform bill becomes effective on 1 July.

Two major new provisions in the bill are set to require claimants to give 10 days notice before filing a lawsuit as well as setting a higher bar for insurers to have to pay their legal costs.
