Axa France will offer settlements to 15,000 restaurant owners in a bid to resolve disputes over non-damage BI claims via an “unprecedented” national scheme that will cost the carrier around EUR300mn ($360mn).

Amid protracted legal uncertainty from disputes with policyholders, Axa France announced today it will make the offer, which will include an extension of the guarantee of operating losses following an administrative closure, to restaurant customers holding its standard policy.
