CCRIF members in Caribbean, Central America renew cat risk insurance

The Caribbean Catastrophe Risk Insurance Facility (CCRIF) has announced that its member governments have renewed their parametric insurance coverage for tropical cyclones, excess rainfall, earthquakes and the fisheries sector ahead of the 2021 Atlantic hurricane season.

It is the second year in a row that members have ceded more than $1bn in risk to the CCRIF.
