Covea is reportedly exploring the acquisition of Axa XL Re, after the business consolidated its reinsurance operations into a single Bermudian entity.

French insurance trade paper L’Argus de l’assurance reported that the French mutual was considering the move, and is being advised by the investment bank Rothschild & Cie.
