A mid-June outbreak of severe storms in Europe is set to become the sixth-costliest event for the continent with at least $2.5bn in economic damages, Aon said in its 'Weekly Cat' report.

Insurers are potentially facing a multi-billion dollar bill from total storm activity during the month, as further heavy hail, rain and winds also continued in the last week of the month impacting Switzerland, Germany and Austria.
