IAG renews A$350mn catastrophe aggregate

IAG has renewed its A$350mn ($264mn) catastrophe aggregate for the fiscal year starting 1 July on a stable structure and said further details would follow on reinsurance arrangements when it reports for the 2021 year.

The insurer transitioned its aggregate cover from a calendar to a financial-year basis in 2020 after ceding repeated losses to reinsurers on the prior aggregate, including $90mn for the second half of calendar year 2020.
