Florida’s west coast under hurricane watch after TS Elsa gains strength

Tropical Storm Elsa picked up some strength as it passed over the Florida Keys Tuesday, raising the possibility it could become a hurricane again before slamming into the mainland.

A hurricane warning was put in place for most of the west coast of the Florida peninsula, from the Keys to about 150 miles north of Tampa.
