Assurant renews $965mn reinsurance program with more multi-year limit

Assurant has renewed its $965mn catastrophe reinsurance coverage, adding $35mn of limit from last year’s level as it placed more on a multi-year basis.

Reinsurance premiums for the total program were estimated to be $149mn pre-tax, up 8% from last year’s outlay.

The 2021-2022 program exhausts at $1.05bn
