Wildfire season across Western states is about a month ahead of schedule, which means 2021 insured wildfire loss totals may exceed the losses of recent years, AM Best has warned.

The prediction reflects the combination of severe drought and extreme heat that has blanketed Western states this summer, AM Best said.
