Shortlist announced for Trading Risk Awards 2021

Trading Risk Awards 2019 photo 2.jpg

Trading Risk is pleased to announce the shortlist for the 13th year of the Trading Risk Awards programme.

Despite the year being a challenging one for the ILS market in the midst of a pandemic, new ground was struck by risk transfer deals that sought to close the protection gap.

This was reflected in various ways in the four finalists in the non-life transaction of the year category – from non-peak Asian risks in Phoenix Re, to the Sierra and Power Protective Re deals that helped first-time non-traditional California sponsors address their earthquake and fire risk, to the Red Cross’s volcano bond.

Finalists in the ILS manager of the year category include those striking out beyond the catastrophe markets as well as those who are cat market stalwarts, while cyber and legacy initiatives also featured on the shortlist.

Thanks are due to this year’s judging panel, which comprised Trevor Bolt, Simon Cloney, Julia Henderson, Morton Lane, Jay Nichols, Fiona Robertson and Tim Tetlow.

Winners of the 10 shortlisted awards, and the Outstanding Contributor of the Year, will be revealed in September.

Thank you to all who submitted for this year’s awards programme and congratulations to all the finalists for the Trading Risk Awards 2021.
