European flooding has impacted 71,859 buildings across the Continent according to the satellite operator Iceye, marking a major rise from yesterday’s estimate of 43,400.

Some 14,509 structures were impacted by high water levels, nearly double the 7,500 reported yesterday.

The increase was caused by a jump in the number of buildings affected in Germany, from 9,300 up to 37,662, which Iceye said would happen...
