Residents in Louisiana and Mississippi affected by Hurricane Ida could face up to a month with no electricity after the storm took out vital power infrastructure over the weekend.

Ida made landfall on the Louisiana coastline near Port Fourchon as a strong Cat 4 hurricane on 29 August.
