Hurricane Nicholas insured loss 'similar' to $700mn Imelda: Siffert

Insured losses from Hurricane Nicholas should be similar to those of Tropical Storm Imelda in 2019 which reached a figure of $700mn, BMS senior vice president and senior meteorologist Andrew Siffert said in a tropical update for the firm.

The storm was only briefly at hurricane status having been a tropical storm for much of its path towards Texas, and it has since weakened to a depression.
