Insurers sue Texas utility company Ercot over Uri power loss

Around 130 insurance companies have filed a lawsuit against the Electric Reliability Council of Texas and over 35 power generators over the energy failure generated by Winter Storm Uri that hit the region last February. 

The insurers claim that the energy provider failed to prepare for the power loss that caused “significant property damage” to carriers and policyholders.
