Ida losses spur ILW rate increases of 5%-10%

Rates on line for industry loss warranty (ILW) contracts have increased 5%-10% year-on-year in early January renewals, while there is a growing lack of capacity for aggregate deals.

Sources told Trading Risk that price increases have been spurred by losses in the latter half of 2021, as trapped capital delayed some renewals, and predicted a move towards more named peril contracts.
