Conduit Re predicts shortages in cat coverage in 2022

Conduit Re has predicted there will be shortfalls in catastrophe coverage in 2022, due to firms leaving the catastrophe sector and reduced ILS fund capacity.

“This year we could well see a shortage of capacity as the year develops,” said chairman Neil Eckert in a video conference discussing the firm’s January 2022 renewals trading update.
