Scor group CEO Laurent Rousseau said that short-term headwinds meant the carrier was “playing defence before we play offence”, as he said the firm was stepping up actions to reduce volatility.

The carrier earlier today released Q1 results that showed a group operating loss of EUR48mn ($50mn) and as it pledged to scale back cat exposure by 15% by year-end, ahead of a previously planned 11% cut.
