Met Office predicts higher-than-average North Atlantic storm activity

Researchers at the Met Office have predicted there could be above-average storm activity in the North Atlantic this year.

The Met Office is forecasting 18 named storms, higher than the 1991-2020 average of 14, and nine hurricanes, a slight jump from the average of seven, between June and November 2022.
