Florida contractors sue to block property bills

The Restoration Association of Florida (RAF) has moved to block the recent property bills, arguing that the new laws “improperly single out contractors” by stripping them of their legal rights in cases over repair work that involves assignment of benefits (AoBs).

As such, the law would prevent contractors who hold AoBs from recovering their attorneys’ fees if they prevail in a lawsuit against an insurance company.
