The 1 June property cat renewal was “like a reality television show” in terms of dramatic change, though new legislation will help calm a stressed Florida market, according to Hiscox Re & ILS CEO Kathleen Reardon.

Speaking at the summer conference of the Association of Lloyd’s Members (ALM), Reardon said the recent political turmoil over Florida homeowners’ insurance at least demonstrates that the instability of the market is a priority for lawmakers.
